The Philip Hodgins Memorial Medal for Excellence in Literature was awarded annually from 1997 to 2020 to an Australian writer whose work best reflected the high standards and distinguished literary accomplishments that Philip Hodgins consistently advocated and exemplified in his poetry. The recipients were presented with a uniquely crafted medal and a cheque for $5000.
